I first noticed the watch maker Certina when Robert Kubica, the well-known BMW Sauber F1 Team driver, began to serve as the ambassador of this brand in 2006. Considering Robert Kubica’s great contribution in building the brand’s unique sporty image and awareness, Certina recently launched the new DS Action Robert Kubica Limited Edition watch.

Sized at the 42.5mm, the stainless steel case showcases fine satin finish and is complemented by some black PVD pieces such as the bezel and the rings of push-buttons. And the cool-looking is further enhanced by the a moulded rubber strap.

The pure racing origin of this watch is reflected on the bright color tones on the dial and the bezel which remind me of the driver’s helmet. And the essential tachmeter scale for drivers is fitted at the rehaust. And I love the nice contrast between the steel hands/hour makers and the black carbon fibre texture, which greatly upgrade the legibility.

Beating insied the watch is a Swiss-made quartz chronograph movement that provides 12-hour chrono and 30-minute chrono, small seconds , and the date display in addition to central hours, minutes and chronograph seconds. All these functions are excellently executed on the dial.

Thanks to the screw-in protected crown and the thick sapphire crystal, the watch maintains an adorable watch resistance of 200 meters. Then you can take some pleasure from diving with the watch in deep water. Well, the strap is fitted with a folding safety buckle and diving extension.

As as the name suggests, this watch is incorporated with the whole Certina DS+ System and is launched in a limited edition of just 4,000 pieces. The “limited edition” wording is included in the small seconds subdial, while  the Robert Kubica’s signature is engraved on the case back.

The future owners of this sporty watch will be offered with a gook-looking display case and an additional stainless steel bracelet.
