Blancpain Saint Valentin 2010

Although 2010 Valentine has gone, I could not help reintroducing the Valentine watches. It is never too late to have a detailed look at these remarkable timepieces. For that special day in 2010 Blancpain debuted the Saint Valentin 2010. Shaped in a prominent infinite emblem, it is the first attempt for Blancpain, a company who used to choose the more classical case shapes in the watchmaking process. The design of ladies’ watches is a niche often neglected by some watch brands, not so at Blancpain since it continues its pioneering attitude to the creation of women’s timepieces.

The intricate mother-of-pearl dial is patterned by more than 500 diamonds and pink sapphires embellishing the bezel. The meticulously cut heart shaped diamond 12 o’clock marker is splashing brilliantly on the dial.

This remarkable artwork is an anthem to love and to femininity. The movement is also very prominent, adding extra elegance to the watch. It features the unique “Lady Bird” Calibre 615 movement, which is the smallest self-winding movement in the world that Blancpain reintroduced. The sapphire crystal case gives free access to the gorgeous movement, making it visible via the back. The bezel is set with an additional 404 diamonds and 66 pink sapphires.

The Blancpain Saint Valentin 2010 is presented with two satin straps, either in black or white. It is encasing in an exceptional gracious presentation box featuring the pure and quintessential lines of Blancpain. The watch comes in a limited production of 14 models.

From the appearance it is definitely an usual looking watch, however, I think it does display the requisite heart for the special occasion.
